Hoi An and My Son

On May 13 we got a driver to take us from Hue to Hoi An. Along the way we stopped at a few places.

The next morning, we woke up at 4:30am for a 5am pick up to go to My Son. Pronounced me sun, My Son is the site of Vietnam's most extensive Cham remains that are still being restored. The VietCong used My Son as a base during the Vietnam War so a lot of the temples/monuments were destroyed.

We got to see the sun rise on our bus ride to My Son

Most of the temples were dedicated to Cham kings associated with divinities, mainly Shiva

Shiva was regarded as the founder and protector of Champa's dynasties

After My Son, we walked around Hoi An - a nice, quaint town where crossing the street wasn't as much as a sport as in Ha Noi or Hue.

It was super hot - I was melting

I'm glad that there aren't any pictures of me because I was drenched in sweat
