Still in Colorado

We didn't make it to Bluff, UT. Instead, we decided to stay the night in Mancos, CO at a lovely B&B called Sundance Bear Lodge owned by a sweet couple (Bob and Sue) originally from California.   With the late start, we weren't able to make it to Mesa Verde National Park before the sun went down. Mancos is about 10 minutes from Mesa Verde so we'll do a quick tour tomorrow morning. The view of the stars from here is amazing...it was cold but I got some pretty cool shots!

The drive here was a lot more scenic than usual, especially when we hit highway 550 - which was absolutely beautiful and very scary at the same time. The pictures really don't do the scenery justice.

I need to do a better job of jotting down where we are when I take these shots

You can't tell how scary of a drive it was along Highway 50
Yes, we stopped on the side of the road to set up the tripod for this shot!

The amount of stars you can see here in Mancos, CO is amazing
Orion's belt is really clear in this shot
That streak is one of the many meteors that we saw tonight

  1. I've never wanted to go on a long car trip through that part of the country, but you are making me revise my opinion. What gorgeous scenery! I'm glad Christine is in the photos now, too.

    1. I've been lucky that Paul has been doing all the driving so I get to enjoy the scenery. This drive by far, was the most beautiful and I think if you have the time, you should do it! I'm glad that you're enjoying the photos.
