Valentine's Day in Queenstown

Since Queenstown is all about adventure and adrenaline-pumping activities (and I was unsuccessful at convincing Paul to skydive or bungy jump), on Valentine's Day we went on the Shotover Jet..."The World's Most Exciting Jet Boat Ride."

They made us wear these butcher jackets - sexy

Waving hello to the cameras

We went as fast as 80 kilometers and got as close as 30 millimeters to the canyon!

It was exhilarating - especially when we did 360 degree turns!

See how narrow the canyon is?

After an exciting morning, we headed to the Skyline Gondolas for a ride up and a (not so good) buffet lunch.

A pretty steep climb

It was a bit wobbly but not too bad of a ride up

Made it to the top!

On our walk back to the room, we passed by the "Icon"

Wanaka and Queenstown

On February 13, we drove from Wanaka to Queenstown. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend a lot of time in Wanaka. We walked by the lake for a little bit but decided to head to Queenstown - especially since the back tire on the rental car seemed to be acting up.

So yes, more car trouble for us. I don't think we'll be renting cars anymore. We had to change out the two back tires. Apparently when you rent from Bargain Rental Cars, tires are our responsibility but the Queenstown Tyre Services technician said he couldn't fix bald tires. So, Bargain Rental Cars will reimburse us, thankfully!

The Vitz is a troublemaker

We headed back into town while they changed the tires...
